Gordon Flyscreen in original white

My Gordon Flyscreen

I have always liked the 80's styling on Vespas and Lambrettas and always wanted a Gordon Fly Screen for my Vespa PX. I came across one in its original white on Ebay and luckily my bid was accepted. I decided to spray it the same colour as my Vespa, which is Blue with a hint of Purple, called Nissan Blue

Once the flyscreen arrived I got to work straight away, rubbing it down with a light sand paper before priming and getting the screen ready to spray. The flyscreen took about 4 coats of paint to get the colour just right. As you can imagine we did have small discrepancies in certain areas, but nothing major and nothing that could not be fixed. Once I was happy the paint was right and there were no areas to be improved, I gave the flyscreen three coats of lacquer over a period of two days, which produced the finish I was aiming for.

After the flyscreen was back together it was time to fit it on the scooter. At first it would not fit but after a few adjustments it slotted perfectly on to the headset. I have a picture of the finished product below.
